There was a real buzz in the room at Weymouth Pavilion this morning as WEBX, Weymouth Business Exchange, welcomed members and visitors to our May Visitors networking breakfast.
40 businesses mingled over a welcome refreshment, getting to know one another in a relaxed manner before breakfast was served.
The business networking was well underway as members and visitors sat down to enjoy a full English breakfast and share their business knowledge, products and services.
Once breakfast was complete, Chairman, Malcolm Steevens, began the formal meeting by welcoming WEBX members and visiting businesses.
First on the agenda, one by one, WEBX members were invited to give a 1-minute presentation on their business and services, followed by the visiting business guests who in turn introduced themselves and their businesses to the networking group.
WEBX were delighted to see that today's meeting included 2 local start-up businesses, an adventure activity company and a self-storage company.
With so much networking happening in the room it was time to turn these into real business leads!
Members and visitors were invited to contribute to the meeting by giving a business referral, thanking a member for a previous business lead or giving a testimonial for a member or business visitor.
This resulted in 38 business referrals and nearly £10,000 in business received and invoices paid from the previous meeting.
With the formal part of the meeting concluded, members and visitors continued to mingle and business network, it was fantastic to still see the room alive with networking 30 minutes after the meeting officially ended.
We look forward to welcoming back today's visitors and hopefully seeing some of them join up to become members of WEBX - Weymouth Business Exchange.
